OH-MAI-GOSH, it was June last year when I went to Penang. And now I’m finally blogging my trip here at my new site! ❤ My photos are so nostalgic (though it was just last year)!! Apparently I couldn’t remember much of the details but I will just share my photos here cox my computer is crowded with photos. In case I delete them, I still have them here T__T Since it’s just a 3-day trip I will squeeze everything in just one post.
Somewhere near the hotel. Very pretty right? PS: actually this photo should not be here, cox it will show with my title thus I cannot show our faces first LOLOL.
Hi! 6 in 1 #1
Groupfie in the plane. Aww miss my long hair T__T
Our ‘Miss Universe’ Agnes Lau posing in front of a plant at the hotel lobby. We stayed at Munlustay88 Hotel. Big room at an affordable price!
Anyway, I think I should part this post into places we visited, and food we ate.
Penang is definitely known for her street arts hiding in every possible place in the city. We, too must be touristic to find them! So here we go, follow me!
Little boy on a motorcycle.
6 in 1 #2 – our OS: Looking at me? *blush*
Half-faced Beijing Opera singer, portraying a situation that their art is dying due to people not appreciating and destroying them. 😥
Save their art together!!
3D art. PS: what was I doing?
Bruce Lee and cats.
Traditional Lion Dance Head!! Still in process I guess?!
There are many shops renting bicycle for (mostly) tourists to find the murals. So we rented one for each of us. Except for EY and Agnes who don’t know how to ride a bicycle. They got tricycles HAHAHAHA.
In front of the below mural.
Can see or not? Most left and most right ones are tricycle HAHAHAHA. PS: my arm scary or not? Can bend over one!!
很有爱 (very loving)！A sister bringing her brother on a bike!
Also must pose with it! 😛
6 in 1 #3.
This old man mural is on the building just beside the bike shop, but we didn’t even notice it! See how the paint has stripped off so much.
Siblings again! ❤ Childhood memories!! But my version is standing alone on the swing, no koko (elder brother) with me. HAHA
6 in 1 #4 – dress vs pants.
Again siblings!! (OK maybe they are not but it’s okay just take it as they are LOL). This one and the swing one are quite near to each other. Same area but different lorong (alleys).
Naughty boy! Be careful ha!
On a shop’s gate. Magician doing his magic.
Got scared the moment I saw this. The street was quite empty when I saw this. Look like a something to me hahahaha!!! BTW hor, she pushes the roof so hard won’t it collapse? LOLOL
Randomly pose in front of other people’s house HAHA.
Behind the scene. HAHAHA
After all the search for the murals, we went to the Chew Jetty (姓周桥).
Some details about the Chew Jetty.
This is also one of the locations for our local movie ‘Ice Kacang Puppy Love’.
Once has a big mural but now..
Imagine two old couples sitting on the chairs reminiscing good old times.
❤ u girls muahx
Riding a bicycle and got on a ferry! How cool is that LOLOL !! Actually I think it is quite dangerous to ride a bicycle in Penang. The drivers drive really fast and they normally don’t stop for us :'(.
The next day we went to Batu Feringghi. We took taxi I think. My father introduced this driver to me. He’s quite good and all but I lost his contact number already LOLOL. Before we took a bus up to Batu Feringghi, driver uncle brought us to buy chocolate and coffee. However the places obviously are for tourists: like those tour guide will have some commission for bringing their groups there.
The beach here also not bad but still lose to Perth’s!! Less crystal clear and no gradient!! 😛
Never mind cox I wasn’t there to play water. I went for parasailing! Woots my first time!
Chilling while waiting for our turn. 6 in 1 #5 – modeling, see whose legs longer, nicer.
Close-up of Amber’s braid I did for her. This is the best up to present I have braided on people’s hair.
With my partner, Dawn! Lazy to photoshop the guy behind. ZZZZ
Believe me I can fly, I’m singing in the sky! Tip: Must open your eyes and enjoy the view, don’t waste it!!! Not many times you can fly you know? Overcome your fear and you will know how cool it is!
Took a bus to Gurney. This is Amber and Agnes in front of Gurney Plaza.
My cute sandals got its straps broken T____T, so I went into the plaza and bought a pair of classic flip flops zzzzzzzzzzzz
Walking along Gurney Drive.
OMG crazy posers. 6 in 1 #6 – Oh hi, sea!
After a day-long walking, I was so tired I just helped them carry their bags as they did their own photoshoot LOLOL
Our destination the next morning was Penang Hill and Kek Lok Temple.
Waiting for cable car.
View from the last carriage.
View from the Hill!
Here we were! On the hill!
But first, let us take a groupfie. LOL
Here’s a photo of us doing Agnes’ classical pose “BANG!”
6 in 1 #7 – modeling, I think Agnes (bottom middle) wins this round.
I never liked cats, but this one is very cute, so I took a photo and show you <3.
Quite like this photo, but the building behind is deserted. And so…. faster take finish faster cabut (run away).
On the way down to the cable car station, we met our State Flag!
Let’s move on to Kek Lok Temple. I actually had a panorama photo but I couldn’t seem to locate it anymore T__T.
Professional shot. *shy*
Make a wish and then ring the bell. 6 in 1 #8.
Walked don’t-know-how-many-floor to go up to the top of the pagoda. And 6 in 1 #9.
Cannot miss out this big Guan Yin statue. Under construction at that time.
Huge ancient-like door.
Meet our zodiac (1994).
Rooster for Dawn’s cox she was born before the Dog Year.
Just for fun. Oinks*
Went to the temple to make some wishes.
Amber earnestly and sincerely praying for her wishes.
Forgot the name for this restaurant. :X
First breakfast in Penang! The dim sum here is really cheap though not super delicious!!! We paid for <RM50 for 6 pax. Not that we ate a whole lot, the food was enough to make all of us full!
Siew mai, har gau, lo mai gai, pai guat, fong zau, egg tarts and chrysanthemum tea!
Then there is this durian fair or something. Got Musang King but we not enough budget to eat zzzzzz
Never mind lah got small one enough already.
Afternoon brunch – Penang curry mee. Erm…… I don’t like it at all, white curry and pig’s blood and dried sotong (squid). AHHHH not my type.
Penang har mee (left) & Penang lor mee. Mix both together also quite nice. I must say I never liked har mee but when I tried one there it’s not bad!! You can try too if you originally dare not eat one. 😛 This one was from a stall near Sunway Hotel, only opens at night!
Second night’s dinner at Bali Hai. At Gurney Drive.
Lobster, can see cannot eat 😦
Living fish, also can see cannot eat 😥
Butter prawns~ PS: Sarawak Club still has the best butter prawns ever!!
Sambal/belacan kangkung! YUMS!
Thai style O-cheo fish.
Black pepper crabs! It was so expensive we could only afford 2 crabs wtf, for 6 people. Kesian (pitiful) to the max okay!
These 4 dishes + rice + drinks = RM350++ *vomit blood for us students* but bo bien (cannot do anything?) cox they are seafood T____T
Must not forget Penang Laksa!! It’s so different from our Sarawak Laksa, nonetheless still quite nice! Asam based, with toppings like shallots and sardin. If you are the kind that cannot stand sardin, too bad you can’t enjoy the goodness. Btw, the one below Kek Lok Temple by the road side one is quite good. Heard that it is one of the best too!
End of story! See you another time Penang! ❤
